OUR STORY
Before Covid, Breezy had a lifestyle brand called Magical Babe. It started as an experiential business, the idea was to lead people through workshops and retreats to inspire daily rituals. Then Covid happened, & there were no retreats had!
So, Mama Laurie, came up with the brilliant idea of making candles as a very intentional, practically magical, daily ritual that we could offer to our community. She got to work, using her Taurus work ethic to research and perfect the art of candle making. Her skills combined with Breezy’s experience in the cosmetic and fragrance world made for the perfect team for this new venture in candle making.
During the launch of Magical Babe, in the same vein of experiential business, Breezy and Laurie would host pouring workshops as a way to promote their candles. Those quickly took off, and with the addition of Story Hills Candles (our other amazing in-house brand), created The Pour Studio that we know today.

What is your favorite Magical Babe Candle?
My favorite magical babe candle is Blood Orange and Sriracha. When I lived with my best friend and her one year old daughter, every morning was spent at the breakfast table. We would routinely make eggs and I would slather mine in hot sauce. That’s when I earned the nickname "auntie hot sauce." So this candle is a little ode to that very special memory of that very special time in my life. And she smells DIVINE
What is the best part of your day at the Pour Studio?
I love any day I get to spend working on private label. It’s such a unique offering and it is so fun to get to collaborate and connect with other local businesses and event planners. It fills my cup, so to speak. I love connection, and to get to learn more about others and how I can best serve them feels very purposeful.

What is your favorite Story Hill Candle?
My favorite candle is “Library” as a young girl after school I would walk downtown to Bungalow Drug and get a cherry coke from the soda fountain, then walk across the street to Poor Richards and peruse the magazine and book sections. The smell of pipe tobacco and the old books and magazines captivated me, and so I created Library to honor those wonderful memories.
What is the best part of your day at the Pour Studio?
Even though I’m a Taurus, a good surprise is so fun! With our Open Pour events, you never know who is going to walk in the door to pour a candle. The spontaneous connections spark something warm in my heart and I look forward to each and every Open Pour with enthusiasm and anticipation.
